Differentials Of Sex Ratio Among Major Religion Of Haryana:A Geographical Analysis

Sex ratio is an important social indicator which has a great importance in the study of population as it is closely related to socio-economic condition of area. The present study focuses on the variations in the pattern of sex ratio among major religious groups of Haryana as the rural and urban sex ratio among different religious groups differs considerably in the year 2001. The sex ratio among religious group was relatively higher in the rural areas.

Endophytic Fungi: A Source Of Novel Enzymic Antioxidants And Biologically Active Secondary Metabolites

Bacterial and fungal endophytes are an attractive group of microorganisms harbouring a number of bioactive natural products. Ocimum sanctum is known to have endophytes. Therefore the present project was carried out to evaluate the presence of endophytic fungi from Ocimum sanctum and the presence of enzymic antioxidants and phytochemicals. Black tulsi have shown mainly the presence of three enzymes amylase, protease and lipase as compared with that of the green tulsi which produces only lipase.

Efficacy Of Supplementation Of Herbal Liver Tonic On The Performance Of Commercial Layers

40 one day old commercial layer chicks of BV 300 strain were randomly divided into two treatment groups with two replicates of 10 chicks each and reared under deep litter system of housing. Group T1 was positive control fed with the basal diet without any natural or synthetic source of antibiotics. Group T2 was test group fed with the basal diet supplemented with herbal liver tonic, Superliv @ 500g/ton of feed for a period of 0 to 38 weeks (supplied by M/S Ayurvet Ltd., Baddi, India).

Antimicrobial Properties And Phytochemical Screening Of Medicinal Plants Against Clinical Pathogens By In-Vitro Methods

Antimicrobial properties of aqueus extracts of 6 different plant extracts were tested against bacterial pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas species. The determination of the antibacterial activity by agar well diffusion method and Disc diffusion method showed that 6 plant extracts tested exhibited antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas species.
