Abstract:

A series of 4-arylidene-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone derivatives were synthesized by reaction of various substituted aromatic aldehydes with 3-methylpyrazolone through Knoevenagel condensation by conventional method. We synthesized benzylidine derivatives by using sodium phosphate as a catalyst to obtain high yield, less reaction time with higher purity.
