Abstract:

The study of physical and chemical characteristics of water provides a considerable insight into quality of water present in water body. The present investigation was centralized in a pond for one year from May 2012 to April 2013. Various physico-chemical parameters such as water temperature, air temperature, pH, free Co2, dissolved oxygen, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, sulphate and phosphate were analysed. The results revealed that there was significant seasonal variation in some physicochemical parameters and most of the parameters were in normal range and indicated better quality of pond water.
